Come join BAWWA in Building 22 of the Alameda Naval Air Station to see behind-the-scenes operations and learn about the craft of making Hangar 1 vodka. Learn about their fruit and botanical selection, the distillation process, and the first ever vodka made with harvested Bay Area fog! Hangar 1 teamed with FogQuest, a non-profit that plans and implements sustainable water projects for rural water communities around the world. The next Fog Point vodka comes out in February 2018.
The tour ends in the distillery space and includes tasting of up to six Hangar 1 vodka expressions, including their Distiller’s Exclusive Line, available only at the distillery. Tastings of spirits shall not exceed 0.25 ounces and shall be limited to no more than six tastes per individual per day. A valid ID is required upon check-in for all guests participating in the tasting. They cannot permit anyone under 21 in the facility. Hangar 1 is an integral part of Alameda’s “Spirits Alley,” a cluster of artisan distilleries and tasting rooms along Monarch Street at Alameda Point that has helped transform the former Naval Air Station from a once deserted area to a popular destination for both tourists and locals, with stunning panoramicviews of the San Francisco skyline.
Following the tour of Hangar 1 Vodka at Alameda Point, join us on the Pizza & Brew side of Linguini’s Restaurant in downtown Alameda’s Park Street area. Attendees are invited to enjoy a social hour and no-host bar starting at 5:00 pm. Buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 pm, followed by the BAWWA General Meeting and the Annual Water For People Auction!
