Tour: Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center (limited to 30)
Time: 2:15 – 4:00 PM
Location: 4190 Zanker Road, San Jose, CA 95134
Come join BAWWA for a walking tour of the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center (SVAWPC). The SVAWPC was completed in July 2014, during the peak of one of California’s worst droughts. The SVAWPC technical tour guides will present lessons learned, updates on future plans, and what the future holds for potable reuse in California.
The SVAWPC receives secondary-treated effluent from the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) and processes the secondary-treated effluent through three additional treatment processes (microfiltration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet light) to produce up to 8 million gallons a day of purified water. The purified water is blended with the recycled water supply produced at the RWF.
Tour Size: Limited to 30 people
Time: Arrive at the Visitors Center next to the parking lot by 2:15 pm. The tour begins promptly at 2:30 pm and will conclude by 4:00 pm.
Parking: Parking is allowed near the Visitors Center and in designated street locations.
Registration: RSVP by Wednesday, February 26. Tour spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
