Tour: City of Vallejo Fleming Hill Water Treatment Plant

Come join BAWWA and tour the City of Vallejo Fleming Hill Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Originally built in 1953, the 42 million gallon per day WTP is the main water treatment facility for the City of Vallejo, serving the greater Vallejo area, Hiddenbrooke, Mare Island, and a small service area of American Canyon. With upgrades and expansion in 1993 and 1996, the conventional surface water treatment plant operates with pre and intermediate ozonation processes and granular activated carbon filter media.
Tour details are as follow:
Tour Size: Limited to 40 people.
Time: Arrive by 2:45 pm to check in. The tour begins promptly at 3:00 pm and will conclude at 4:30 pm.
Parking/Carpooling: Parking at the WTP is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. Parking instructions will be emailed a week prior to the event.
Registration: RSVP by Thursday, October 28th. Tour spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
General Membership Meeting & Dinner
Following the tour of the Fleming Hill Water Treatment Plant, make your way to Zio Fraedo’s in Vallejo. Attendees are invited to enjoy a social hour and no-host bar starting at 5:00 pm. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 pm, followed by the BAWWA General Meeting, which includes election of new 2022 officers and directors, and concludes with the always-lively annual Water For People Auction.
Location: Zio Fraedos on the Water Restaurant (23 Harbor Way, Vallejo, CA 94591).
Parking: Restaurant has a designated parking lot.

BAWWA Annual Water For People Auction
Water For People is a nonprofit that works with people in developing countries to improve their access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Around the world, 783 million people do not have access to safe drinking water, and more than 2.5 billion people lack adequate sanitation facilities. Water For People is working to change those statistics. In 2011, Water For People launched its daring “Everyone, Forever” initiative aimed at making real, sustainable change in the communities where the organization works.
BAWWA has been increasingly successful in raising money for WFP in our annual auction, and having a great time while doing it. We hope to continue the trend this year!
